WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram fell for thousands of users on Friday
Facebook Inc said on Friday that its services were being affected by a number of problems, after nearly a million people worldwide reported problems with its Instagram photo-sharing app.
“Several teams are working on that (the outage), and we’ll update it when we can,” Facebook’s gaming unit said in a tweet.
Several users took to Twitter to complain about the outage, with #whatsappoutage trending in many countries, including India.
The outage-tracking website Downdetector.com showed that there were almost 1 million incidents of people reporting problems with Instagram, while almost 20,000 users posted about problems with WhatsApp on the website.
Downdetector tracks outages by collecting status reports from a number of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform. The outages may be affecting a larger number of users.
