Now no more late trains! PM Modi dedicated freight corridor to the country

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the New Bhupur-New Khurja section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor through video conferencing.

PM Modi started the biggest railway project of the Railways through video conferencing at 11 am. will do. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Piyush Goyal will also be present on the occasion.

A medium for self-reliant India
While dedicating the ambitious New Bhupur-New Khurja section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this corridor will become a medium of self-reliant India and will help the farmers railways.

New routes will open from the corridor
Speaking on the occasion, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that this dedicated freight corridor will open new avenues. New Bhupur of 351 km – The new Khurja section of EDFC is located in Uttar Pradesh and is built at a cost of Rs 5,750 crore. This section will vacate the existing Kanpur-Delhi mainline and enable the Indian Railways to run faster trains. With this, goods trains will be able to run at 100 km per hour on this corridor.

A new environment of development will be ready
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the New Bhupur-New Khurja section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor is very important for us as most of it passes through Uttar Pradesh and it will create a new environment for development. He said that earlier many trains were running on these tracks at a speed of 25 kmph, but now this speed will increase manifold.

New opportunities for local industries
This segment will open new avenues of opportunity for local industries such as the aluminum industry in the Kanpur Dehat district, the dairy sector in Auraiya, textile production in Etawah, the glassware industry in Firozabad, and locks and hardware in Aligarh district.
