Earlier, the Indian pair got a walkover against the Latvian and Spanish pair of Jelena Ostapenko and David Vega Hernandez in their quarterfinal match.

The Indian pair defeated Uruguay and Japanese pair of Ariel Behar and Makato Ninomiya 6-4, 7-6 (11-9) to reach the quarterfinals. Sania has already announced that this will be her last Grand Slam.
