New Delhi: In a significant development, India recorded less than 60,000 daily new cases after 81 days. In the last 24 hours, 58,419 daily new cases were reported in the country. The daily new cases of Kovid-19 in India are continuously decreasing. For the 13th consecutive day, the number of new cases of Kovid-19 in the country was less than one lakh. This is the result of continuous efforts being made in collaboration with the Center and the States/UTs.
The number of active cases of Kovid-19 in India is continuously decreasing. The number of active cases fell to 7,29,243 today.
The total number of active cases has come down by 30,776 in the last 24 hours. This is now only 2.44 per cent of the total Covid positive cases in the country.
Also, with more people recovering from Kovid-19 infection, the daily number of people recovering from the disease for the 38th consecutive day is more than the daily new cases of Kovid-19. In the last 24 hours, 87,619 people have recovered from the disease.
In the last 24 hours, more than 29 thousand (29,200) people have recovered from the disease as compared to the daily new cases.
A total of 2,87,66,009 people have already recovered from COVID-19 infection since the start of the pandemic in India and a total of 87,619 people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. The national recovery rate has also improved to 96.27 percent and is increasing steadily.
With a significant increase in testing capacity in India, a total of 18,11,446 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of investigations done so far in the country is more than 39.10 crores (39,10,19,083).
While on one hand the testing of Kovid has increased across the country, on the other hand the weekly positivity rate is also decreasing continuously. The weekly positivity rate is currently 3.43 percent while the daily positivity rate has gone up to 3.22 percent today. It has remained less than five percent for 13 consecutive days.
According to the provisional report, a total of 27,66,93,572 crore doses of Kovid-19 vaccine have been given in the country in 37,91,686 sessions till 7 am today. In the last 24 hours, 38,10,554 doses of vaccine were given.
