Corona Update: Decline active cases in India, the number reduced to 3.08 lakh

New Delhi: The trend of continuous decline has continued for the past few weeks and India’s active cases remain at 3.09 percent of the total active cases.

India has reported more daily recovery than daily new cases during the last 24 hours. The trend of higher daily recovery as compared to daily cases is leading to a steady decline in active cases in India which currently stands at 3,08,751.

While 25,152 individuals were found to be infected with Covid in the last 24 hours, 29,885 new recoveries were recorded during this period. There is a continuous downward trend in daily active cases. This has led to a net drop of 5,080 in total active cases in the last 24 hours.

Decreasing active cases has ensured that India has the lowest number of active cases (223) per million population in the world.

India has achieved another notable achievement in its fight against the global epidemic. The total number of tests conducted so far has crossed 16 crores.

In the last 24 hours, 11,71,868 samples were tested, taking the total number of tests conducted in India to 16,00,90,514. Daily testing capacity in India has increased to 1.5 million.

Extensive investigations on a continuous basis have resulted in a decrease in the positivity rate. The cumulative positivity rate to date is 6.25.

The positivity rate of 15 states / UTs is lower than the national average.

The total number of recovered cases today has crossed 95.5 lakhs (95,50,712). The recovery rate improved to 95.46 percent, the highest worldwide. The interval between recovered cases and active cases is steadily increasing and currently stands at 92,41,961.

34 States / UTs have a recovery rate of over 90 percent.

The contribution of 10 States / UTs is 74.97 percent in the new cases recovered.

In Kerala, 4701 persons were cured of Covid-19. Maharashtra and West Bengal recorded 4467 and 2729 new recoveries respectively.

10 States / UTs have contributed 73.58% in new cases.

Kerala registered 5456 cases in the last 24 hours. West Bengal recorded 2239 new cases while Maharashtra recorded 1960 daily cases yesterday.

78.96 percent of 347 death cases have been reported from 10 states / UTs in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra recorded the highest number of new daily deaths with 75 deaths. There were also 42 deaths in West Bengal.
