Corona Update: increase in Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat

New Delhi: In six states of the country – Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat, new cases of corona continue to increase daily and these states account for 78.56 percent of the total new cases. In the last 24 hours, 56,211 new cases of Corona were registered. Maharashtra recorded the highest number of 31,643 new cases followed by Punjab with 2,868 and Karnataka with 2,792. Ten states are seeing an increase in new cases of corona every day.

Corona’s active cases (case load) in the country today stands at 5,40,720 and this is 4.47 percent of the total positive cases. There has been an increase of 18,912 cases in total active cases (case load) in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh account for 79.64 percent of the total active cases and Maharashtra has more than 62 percent of the total active case load.

According to the provisional report received till 7 am today, 6.11 crore (6,11,13,354) vaccine has been given through 10,07,091 sessions. These include 81,74,916 health workers (first dose), 51,88,747 health workers (second dose), 89,44,742 frontline workers (first dose) and 37,11,221 frontline workers (second dose). Of the beneficiaries who are more than 45 years of age and who have other illnesses, 68,72,483 (first dose) and 405 have been given second dose of vaccine. Among such beneficiaries whose age is more than 60 years, the first dose has been given to 2,82,19,257 and the second dose to 1,583.

A total of 5,82919 vaccines were given on the 73rd day of Corana vaccination (March 29, 2021), of which 551164 beneficiaries were given the first dose through 14,608 sessions and the second dose to 31,755 beneficiaries.

The number of people recovering from corona in India has increased to 1,13,93,021 today. The national recovery rate is 94.19 percent.
