Corona Update: India achieved more than 4.2 crore Corona vaccine doses

New Delhi: India has achieved an important milestone in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic and now the scope of corona vaccination has increased to more than four crores.

According to the preliminary report, 4,20,63,392 vaccine doses have been given through 6,86,469 sessions till 7 am today.

These include 77,06,839 health workers (first dose) 48,04,285 health workers (second dose) 79,57,606 frontline workers (first dose) 24,17,077 frontline workers (second dose). Of these, 32,23,612 beneficiaries are over 45 years of age and have other diseases and are given first dose and 1,59,53,973 beneficiaries are over 60 years of age.

27,23,575 vaccine doses were given on the 63rd day of the Corona vaccination campaign (March 19, 2021). Out of the total beneficiaries, 24,15,800 beneficiaries were awarded the first dose (health workers and frontline workers) and the second dose of vaccine to 3,07,775 health workers and frontline workers through 38,989 sessions.

A total of 39.34 million vaccine doses have been given till March 18, 2021 in the country. In any country of the world, India is second only to the US in the corona vaccination case.

Eight states account for 60 per cent of the total vaccinations done so far in the country.

In the last 24 hours, 27.23 lakh vaccine doses have been given, out of which 80 percent of the beneficiaries are in 10 states.

Five new states of Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh have seen an increase in daily new cases of corona.

Six states account for 83.7 percent of the new cases registered in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, 40,953 new cases have been registered.

Maharashtra recorded the highest number of 25,681 new cases a day and 2,470 new cases were reported in Punjab and 1,984 in Kerala.

Eight states are witnessing a spurt in daily new cases of corona, including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka and Haryana. There is a continuous decrease in corona cases in Kerala.

Today, the total active case weight of Corona in India is 2,88,394 which is 2.50 percent of the total positive cases. There has been a total decrease of 17,112 cases in Corona’s total active case load in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab account for 76.22 percent of the total active case load of the country.

The total number of people recovering from corona in India today stands at 1,11,07,332 and the national recovery rate is 96.12 percent. In the last 24 hours, 23,653 patients have recovered from Corona and 188 deaths have been recorded in the same period.

Five states account for 81.38 per cent of the new cases of deaths from Corona, with Maharashtra having the highest number of deaths in the last 24 hours at 70 and 38 deaths in Punjab and 17 in Kerala.

There have been no reports of deaths from corona in 15 states / union territories in the last 24 hours. These include Assam, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Sikkim, Ladakh, Manipur, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Arunachal Pradesh.
