Corona Update: India becomes fastest country to deliver 14 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine

New Delhi: As per the largest vaccination campaign in the world, the total number of doses of Covid-19 vaccine given in India has exceeded 14 crore today. According to the provisional report received till 7 am today, a total of 14,09,16,417 doses of Covid vaccine have been given through 20,19,263 sessions. The total number of vaccination beneficiaries includes 92,90,528 HCWs who have undergone the first dose of the vaccine, and 59,95,634 HCWs who have taken the second dose of the vaccine. Apart from this, 1,19,50,251 FLWs taking the first dose, 62,90,491 FLWs taking the second dose, 4,96,55,753 taking the first dose over the age of 60 years and 77,19,730 beneficiaries taking the second dose. As well as 4,76,83,792 first dose users and 23,30,238 second dose recipients of 45 to 60 years of age.

In another significant development, India became the fastest country to deliver 140 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine. India achieved this feat in just 99 days.

Eight states account for 58.83 percent of the total doses given in the country so far.

During the last 24 hours, more than 2.5 million doses of the vaccine have been given.

A dose of 25,36,612 vaccines of Covid-19 was given until the 99th day of the vaccination campaign (April 24, 2021). Out of this, 16,43,864 beneficiaries were given the first dose through 25,732 sessions and the second dose of vaccine was given to 8,92,748 beneficiaries.

Till date, a total of 1,40,85,110 Covid patients have been cured in India. The national recovery rate is 83.05 percent. 2,17,113 covid patients have recovered during the last 24 hours.

10 states account for 81.73 percent of the number of patients recovering from the disease.

In the last 24 hours, 3,49,691 new cases of Kovid-19 infection have been registered.

74.53% cases of new infections are being reported in 10 states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Maharashtra has the highest number of 67,160 daily new cases reported. This is followed by Uttar Pradesh with 37,944 cases, while Karnataka has 29,438 new cases.

In 12 states, the trend of increasing daily new cases continues, as shown below.

The total number of active cases in India has increased to 26,82,751. This number is 15.82 percent of the total infected cases in the country. The total number of active cases has increased by 1,29,811 cases during the last 24 hours.

Eight states – Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Kerala together account for 69.94 percent of the total active cases in India.

The national death rate associated with Kovid is falling and is currently 1.13 percent. 2,767 Covid patients have died during the last 24 hours. 10 states account for 80.23 percent of new deaths. Maharashtra had the highest number of deaths at 676, followed by Delhi with the highest at 357.

No patients have died of Covid in five states / union territories during the last 24 hours. The names of these states / union territories are Daman Diu and Dadar Nagar Haveli, Tripura, Lakshadeep, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
