New Delhi: In six states – Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat, new cases of corona are being recorded every day. Their contribution in the new cases registered in the last 24 hours has been 80.63 percent.
There have been 53,476 new cases in the last 24 hours. The number of new cases reported per day in Maharashtra is still the highest at 31,855 (59.57 per cent). After this, 2,613 new cases have been reported in Punjab and 2,456 in Kerala.
Ten states still report an increase in daily new cases of corona.
Today, there are 3.95 lakh (3,95,192) active cases (case load) of corona in the country, which is 3.35 percent of the total positive cases. There has been an increase of 26,735 cases in total active cases (case load) in the last 24 hours.
Three states Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab contribute 74.32 percent of the total active cases of corona in the country and Maharashtra accounts for 62.91 percent of the total active cases of the country.
According to the provisional report till 7 am today, 5.31 crore (5,31,45,709) vaccine doses have been administered through 8,61,292 sessions.
These include 79,80,849 health workers (first dose), 50,61,790 health workers (second dose), 84,78,478 frontline workers (first dose) and 32,37,381 frontline workers (second dose). 51,31,949 beneficiaries (first dose) are those who are over 45 years of age and are suffering from some form of serious illness’. There are more than 2,32,55,262 beneficiaries over 60 years of age.
According to the preliminary report, more than 23 lakh (23,03,305) vaccine doses were given on the 68th day of Covid-19 vaccination across the country (24 March 2021). Of these, 21,13,323 health workers and frontline workers were given the first dose of vaccine through 38,243 sessions and 1,89,982 health workers and frontline workers were given the second dose of the vaccine.
The overall number of people recovering in India today stands at 1,12,31,650. The national recovery rate is 95.28 percent.
In the last 24 hours, 26,490 cases have been cured. The difference between total recoverable cases and active cases today is 10,836,458.
Kovid has killed 251 people in the last 24 hours.
In the case of daily deaths, 78.49 percent deaths occurred in six states. In the last 24 hours, 95 people have died in Maharashtra, 39 in Punjab and 29 in Chhattisgarh due to Covid.
Fourteen states / union territories have not reported any deaths from Kovid-19 in the last 24 hours. These states / union territories include Jammu and Kashmir (Union Territory), Goa, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Ladakh (Union Territory), Sikkim, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The group comprises Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
