New Delhi: The decline in daily new cases of Covid in India continues. 9,110 new patients have appeared in the last 24 hours. The decreasing number of daily patients and increasing recovery rates have ensured a continued decline in the number of active cases.
The number of patients undergoing treatment for coronavirus infection in the country today is 1.43 lakh (1,43,625), which is just 1.32 percent of the total positive cases.
So far, the total number of people who have become infection free has reached 1.05 crore (1,05,48,521). In the last 24 hours, 14,016 patients have recovered from the infection and have been discharged. The difference between recovering patients and active cases continues to widen. This number is pegged at 1,04,04,896 today.
With a steady increase in the number of covid recovers, India’s recovery rate has reached 97.25%, the highest globally. The rate of recovery in Britain, USA, Italy, Russia, Brazil and Germany is much lower than in India.
The average daily deaths of Covid in India are also decreasing rapidly. In the second week of January 2021, this number was at a high level of 211 daily deaths, while in the second week of February 2021, the average daily death was reduced to 96. Thus a 55% decline has been recorded.
Covid mortality (CFR) in India is the lowest in the world at 1.43%. While the global average is 2.18%.
About 62.6 lakh (62,59,008) beneficiaries have been vaccinated till 8:00 am on February 9, 2021 under the nationwide Covid 19 vaccination practice.
Of these, 5,482,102 are health workers and 7,76,906 are frontline workers.
During the 24 days of the vaccination campaign, 4,46,646 people (1,60,710 health workers and 2,85,936 frontline workers) were vaccinated in 10,269 sessions. So far 1,26,756 sessions have been held.
81.2% of the cured new patients are from 6 states and union territories.
Kerala has recorded maximum recovery of one day with 5,959 newly recovered patients. In the last 24 hours, 3,423 people recovered in Maharashtra followed by 550 out of Corona in Bihar.
In the past 24 hours, infection has been confirmed in 9,110 new patients. 81.39% of new cases are from only 6 states and union territories.
Kerala has the highest number of 3,742 new patients. This was followed by 2,216 patients in Maharashtra, while 464 Covid patients were confirmed in Tamil Nadu.
78 infected people have died in the last 24 hours. There have been less than 100 deaths since last 4 days. The percentage of new deaths in the five states and union territories is 64.1. Kerala had a maximum of 16 deaths. Maharashtra has an average of 15 deaths daily, while Punjab has 11 deaths.
