New Delhi: The number of doses of vaccines provided under the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in India crossed 33.57 crores yesterday. According to a provisional report, a total of 33,57,16,019 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been given in the country in 44,75,791 sessions till 7 am today. In the last 24 hours, 27,60,345 doses of vaccine were given.
The new phase of making the COVID-19 vaccination available to all began on June 21, 2021. The central government is committed to increasing the speed and scope of vaccination across the country.
48,786 new cases have been registered in India in the last 24 hours.
Less than 50,000 new cases are being reported daily for four consecutive days. This is the result of continuous efforts being made in collaboration with the Center and the States/UTs.
The number of active cases of Kovid-19 in India is also decreasing continuously. The number of active cases fell to 5,23,257 today.
In the last 24 hours, the total number of active cases has come down by 13,807. This is now only 1.72 per cent of the total Covid positive cases in the country.
Also, with more people recovering from Kovid-19 infection, the daily number of people recovering from the disease for the 49th consecutive day is more than the daily new cases of Kovid-19. In the last 24 hours, 61,588 people have recovered from the disease.
More than 12,000 (12,802) more people have recovered from the disease than the daily new cases in the last 24 hours.
A total of 2,94,88,918 people have already recovered from COVID-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic in India and a total of 61,588 people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. The national recovery rate has also improved to 96.97 percent and it is increasing continuously.
With a significant increase in testing capacity in India, a total of 19,21,450 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of investigations done so far in the country is more than 41.20 crores (41,20,21,494).
While the testing of Kovid has increased across the country on one hand, on the other hand the weekly positivity rate is also decreasing continuously. The weekly positivity rate is currently 2.64 percent while the daily positivity rate has gone up to 2.54 percent today. It has remained less than five percent for 24 consecutive days.
