A video of Farm Union leader Rakesh Tikait has surfaced on social media, where he can be seen urging supporters to beat him with sticks and hoist their flags, indicating that the entire episode may be pre-planned.
In the video, Tikait can be heard saying, “Now you are armed with sticks and hoisting your flag or you will not be able to save your land.”
Speaking to ABP News, Tikait admitted his statement in the video which went viral but denied the allegations that he attempted to incite the farmers. He said: “Yes, I told them to bring a flag and a stick, but we did not use it. There is nothing wrong.”
Two other names have so far emerged to incite violence. Actor Deep Sidhu who has been blamed for the Red Fort incident and another gangster turned activist Lakh Sidhana to mobilize the farmers. It is reported that on Monday evening, Deep Sidhu took the main stage at Sinhua and Lakha Sidhan announced that he would march inside Delhi.
Now, Tikait said there were some anti-social elements behind the violence during the tractor parade of farmers in the national capital on Tuesday. He said that due to the action of Delhi Police, some anti-social elements entered the parade and caused violence.
