Dia Mirza married businessman Vaibhav Rekha on Monday 15 February. The couple got married in Bandra as per Hindu customs. The entire ceremony was conducted by a lady priest and the actor took time out from post-wedding engagements to thank the woman who canceled his marriage.
Mirza continues to share glimpses from her intimate wedding ceremony on social media and one of those posts was dedicated to Sheela Atta, the woman responsible for tying all the rituals and customs together in one sutra.
The Sanju actor shared a picture from his wedding ceremony on Instagram showing Mirza and Rekha holding a basket of ritualistic offerings in front of the holy fire and chanting Atta Mantra beside them.
Mirza wrote that she was grateful to Atta as she handled the ceremony brilliantly.
Many fans commented on praising the actor for highlighting the involvement of a female priest. Also, some Twitter users reported that it was necessary for celebrities like Mirza to come up with unconventional customs, urging more and more people to accept social changes.
