New Delhi: As a symbol of its commitment to serve Covid patients outside the hospital, the Ministry of AYUSH has started free distribution of ‘AYUSH-64’ at several places in Delhi since last Saturday.
Many more centers of this free distribution will be operational from Monday. Covid-19 patients living in isolation centers organized by home isolation or some government / non-governmental organizations can benefit from this initiative of the Ministry of AYUSH.
The patient or his representative can visit these centers to get a free pack of ‘AYUSH-64’ tablets along with hard or soft copies of the patient’s RT PCR positive report and its Aadhar card. If necessary, replenishment of these pills will also be done free of cost.
It can be noted here that ‘Ayush-64’ is a poly herbal medicine, which has been found to be useful in the treatment of uncomplicated, mild and moderate levels of infection without Covid-19. The ‘AYUSH-64’ has been recommended in the National Clinical Management Protocol based on Ayurveda and Yoga, which is called the National Task Force on ICMR’s Covid Management and Ayurveda practitioners for Covid-19 patients living in home isolation. Has been verified by the guideline. The drug was followed by a solid multi-center clinical trial, which was monitored by the Joint Monitoring Committee of the AYUSH-CSIR on clinical trials, chaired by Dr. VM Katoch, former Director General of ICMR. -19 has been added as a measure in addition to standard care for patients.
The seven centers at which ‘AYUSH-64’ will be available for non-symptomatic, mild and moderate Covid-19 patients from Monday are – All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Sarita Vihar (9.30 am – 1.00 pm ); Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Ashok Road (all seven days, 8.30 am – 4.30 pm); Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Abul Fazl Enclave Part-1, Jamia Nagar, Okhla (9 AM – 5 PM); Unani Medical Center, Room No.111-113, Main OPD Building, First Floor, Gate No.7, Safdarjung Hospital (9 AM – 4 PM); Unani Specialty Clinic, Dr. MA Ansari Health Center, Jamia Millia Islamia (9 am – 4.30 pm); Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Gali No. 66, Punjabi Bagh (9.30 am – 4 pm) and Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy, D-Block, Janakpuri (9 am – 12 pm. Of CCRYN in Sector 19 in Rohini Naturopathy Hospital will also start distribution of ‘AYUSH-64’ from Wednesday (9 am – 12 pm).
Apart from this, a sales counter has also been set up at the reception of Ayush Bhawan, B-Block, GPO Complex, where both ‘Ayush-64’ and safety kit are available.
