Gadkari invites Austrian companies to set up plants in India for ropeways, cable car

Road Transport and Highways Minister Gadkari met the Austrian delegation led by Katrina Weiser, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to India.

Gadkari informed the delegation that several ropeway and cable car projects are being implemented by India.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday invited Austrian companies to set up plants in India to manufacture ropeway and cable car parts and components.

They appreciated the high quality of ropeway and cable car components and equipment manufactured by Austrian companies and stressed on cooperation in technology transfer and manufacturing in India.

In the meeting, views were exchanged on latest technologies and innovations in road infrastructure development and green technologies.

Representatives of Austrian companies apprised Gadkari about various innovative technologies and products being manufactured by them.

Other possible areas of cooperation such as highway construction, tunnel construction, electronic toll systems, intelligent transport systems, traffic management systems, green technology tunnel monitoring systems and new technologies in road safety were also discussed.

The meeting paved the way for India’s continued partnership and strengthening of developmental cooperation with Austria to bring innovation in the road transport sector and develop effective solutions to contemporary challenges in transport and logistics.

The Ambassador of Austria also invited Gadkari to visit Austria.
