It’s happening!! Government announces implementation of the CAA

Before the commencement of the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the government of India, issued a notification for the establishment of the Citizenship Amendment Act, or CAA, which is coming into effect from 12th March.


As per the Citizenship Amendment Act , the central government will grant citizenship to persons who belong to the communities such as Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Parsi, Sikh, Jain, communities who came from countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh , Afghanistan. And who came to India on or before 31 December, 2014.

Meanwhile, Protest erupts in Jamia Milia Islamia Campus, against the implementation of CAA. Also the the Congress-affiliated National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) also opposed the implementation of this Act. As a preventive measure, the Delhi Police has deployed its personnel to maintain law and order in the campus.
