Government should declare journalists as front-line warrior: Dr Vagish Saraswat

Mumbai: Senior journalist and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena general secretary Dr Vagish Saraswat have written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray, demanding that Maharashtra working journalists be declared front-line Covid warriors. Dr. Vagish said that many journalists of the state have died due to the Corona epidemic. Journalists, cameramen, and photographers are reporting with their lives on their palms. The state government should declare journalists as front-line warriors and make arrangements to provide all the benefits and facilities that are given to doctors and other health workers.

Dr. Vagish in his letter recently cited the declaration of Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik government’s journalists as front line Kovid Warriors, saying that Maharashtra is a progressive state, therefore, based on the decision of the Orissa Government, in the interest of the journalists Journalists work as a bridge between the government and the public to convey information. In the Corona epidemic, it is the responsibility of the state government to take decisions in the interest of journalists.
