Haryana Police has decided to cancel the passports and visas of farmer protesters involved in violence and damaging public properties on the Punjab-Haryana border.

Announcing major action against the ongoing farmers’ protest, DSP Ambala Joginder Sharma said, “We will request the ministry and the embassy to cancel their visas and passports. Their photo, name and address will be given to the passport office. We are working on canceling their passports.

He said that the protesters coming from Punjab to Haryana and committing violence in the name of farmers’ protest have been identified with the help of CCTV and drone cameras.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha are leading the agitation to put pressure on the Center to accept their demands, including legal guarantee on minimum support price for crops and farm loan waiver.

Most of the farmers from Punjab participating in the agitation are camping at Shambhu and Khanauri border points.

Farmer leaders have said that the protesters will continue camping in Khanauri and Shambhu till February 29, when the next course of action will be decided.
