On August 6, 2026, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat strongly defended the protesting Gen Z generation, stating clearly that they are not “anti-national” and that their grievances are entirely valid. Speaking at the IIMUN Annual Championship Conference at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai, Bhagwat emphasized that the younger generation consists of “our own people,” who should be met with open dialogue and a sense of belonging rather than coercion or alienation.
Coming just days after student protests and a march to Parliament at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat spoke on Thursday about the need for the right approach to address the issues raised by Gen Z.
Speaking at a conference themed ‘The Role of Youth in Uniting the World: The Indian Way,’ the RSS chief said, “If Gen Z is protesting, they are certainly not anti-national; they are our own people, our next generation.”
