Here’s why Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is called Rajadhiraj?

The most important of the 12 Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva located in different parts of the country is Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga. It is said to be one of the Dwadash Jyotirlinga. By the sight of this Jyotirlinga, worship, worship, all the sins of the devotees after their birth are eliminated. They become eligible for the grace of Lord Shiva. This most sacred Jyotirlinga is located in Ujjain of Madhya Pradesh.

In fact, this temple has a lot of importance. There is an influx of devotees here, but very few people know that how Lord Mahalankeshwar Jyotirlinga originated?

According to mythology, Ujjaini was ruled by King Chandrasen. He was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and was a friend of King Chandrasen, the chief of the Shiva gunas, Manibhadra. Once the king’s friend Manibhadra presented a Chintamani to King Chandrasen which was very bright.

King Chandrasen wore the gem around his neck, but as soon as he wore the gem, the whole aura lit up and along with it the fame and fame of the king started increasing in other countries as well. Seeing the respect and fame of the king, other kings tried to get the gem, but the gem was very dear to the king.

For this reason the king did not give the gem to anyone. Therefore, when the king did not give the gem, other kings attacked. At the same time, King Chandrasen went to the shelter of Lord Mahakal and became meditative.

When King Chandrasen Baba was in the samadhi of Mahakal, at that time Gopi came there with his little boy for darshan. The boy was only five years old and Gopi was a widow. Seeing King Chandrasen meditating, the child was also inspired to worship Shiva.

He brought the stone from somewhere and sitting in a secluded place in his house started worshiping Shivling with devotion. After some time he became so absorbed in devotion that he did not go even after the call of his mother. The child did not go even after repeated calls from the mother. The angry mother started beating the child at the same time and picked up all the items of worship and threw them away.

When the child came to consciousness after being freed from meditation, he felt very sad to see his worship destroyed. Suddenly there was a miracle from the depths of his agony. A beautiful temple was built there by the grace of Lord Shiva. The divine Shivling was seated in the middle of the temple and the worship adorned by the child was intact. Seeing all this, the mother was also surprised.

When King Chandrasen came to know about this incident, he also came to meet that Shiva devotee child. Along with King Chandrasen, other kings also reached there. Everyone sought forgiveness of their crime from King Chandrasen and together started worshiping Lord Mahakal.

Then Rambhakta Shri Hanuman ji appeared there and he addressed all the kings and the people present, sitting on the lap of the cow-boy. That is, apart from Shiva, there is no movement of beings. This Gopa child has attained Shivatva-all-encompassing, Mars by worshiping Shiva without any mantra or rituals, just by seeing Shiva worship elsewhere.

This supreme devotee of Shiva is the one who enhances the fame of all the gopajans. In this world, it will attain all the infinite pleasures and will attain salvation after death. The eighth man of this lineage would be Mahayashvi Nanda, whose son Narayan himself would be reputed by the name Krishna.

It is said that Lord Mahakal has been sitting in Ujjayini since then itself. The description of the infinite glory of Mahakal is found in our ancient texts. Mahakal is said to be the king there and he is also considered as Rajadhiraja deity.
