India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crosses the historic 36 crore mark

New Delhi: In a landmark achievement, India’s total immunization coverage crossed 36 crores yesterday. As per the provisional report, a total of 36,13,23,548 vaccine doses have been administered through 47,07,778 sessions till 7 am today. During the last 24 hours, 36,05,998 doses of vaccine were administered.

The new chapter of COVID-19 vaccination for all began on June 21, 2021. The Central Government is committed to increasing the coverage of Covid-19 vaccination across the country and expediting the process.

43,733 new daily cases have been reported in India during the last 24 hours.

For ten consecutive days, less than 50,000 daily new cases are being reported in the country. It is the result of continuous and collaborative efforts of the Center and the States/UTs.

There is also a steady decline in active cases in India. The number of active cases in the country today stands at 4,59,920.

The active cases have seen a total decline of 4,437 during the last 24 hours and the number of active cases is now only 1.50% of the total positive cases in the country.

As the number of people recovering from Kovid-19 infection is increasing, the number of daily recoveries in India is also increasing in comparison to the daily new cases for 55 consecutive days. During the last 24 hours 47,240 patients were cured.

More than 3,000 (3,507) patients are reported to have recovered during the last 24 hours as compared to the daily new cases.

Of those infected since the start of the pandemic, 2,97,99,534 people have already been cured of COVID-19 infection and 47,240 patients have been cured during the last 24 hours. Due to this, the total recovery rate has gone up to 97.18 percent, which is increasing continuously.

The testing capacity in the country is being continuously increased, in connection with which a total of 19,07,216 tests were conducted in the country during the last 24 hours. Basically India has conducted more than 42.33 crore (42,33,32,097) tests so far.

On one hand the testing capacity was increased across the country, while on the other hand the weekly positivity rate also registered a steady decline. At present, the weekly positivity rate is 2.39 percent, while today the daily positivity rate is less than 3 percent for the 16th consecutive day. It has remained consistently below five per cent for the past one month.
