India’s first RRTS railway will go to public with world-class facilities, 3 times faster than metro

The Government of India is taking a step forward to upgrade the Indian Railway system. In that direction, the government has started the country’s first RRTS railway. The move seems even more significant after the introduction of Kavach technology and the new Vande Bharat trains.

The new RRTS is an all-new design of train designed to provide a smooth travel experience for railway passengers. The first phase of the train’s construction began in 2021 and is now kicking off the trial and testing phase by the end of this year.

The new train will have a total of six coaches which can be increased to nine later. One of these six coaches is completely dedicated to providing a premium experience to the passengers, with various amenities like Wi-Fi for the passengers.

There will be a total of 407 seats in the six coaches of the train. The train is capable of accommodating 1500 passengers at a time. It should be noted that the train is designed for a setting similar to that of an aircraft.

The design of the train also takes into account the speed of the train. It is capable of achieving three times the speed of the metro. Looking at the numbers, the average speed of the train is 100 km/h and the maximum speed is 160 km/h.

The train is expected to cross the tracks by March 2023, covering five stations between Sahibabad in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh to Duhai in Uttar Pradesh.
