IRCTC’s new website and app launch will change the ticket booking method

New Delhi: Indian Railways has renewed its e-ticketing website www.irctc.co.in and IRCTC Rail Connect mobile app, which are used for online booking of railway tickets. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the new website and mobile app. IRCTC claims that the experience of booking passengers’ tickets through the new website is about to change. Booking tickets will be easier and faster than before.

An official statement said that the new website provides user personalization features with user log-in as well as a seamless travel experience, one-stop train selection for booking, and optimization for integrated booking for food and accommodation with tickets will do.

When entering the station or passenger’s name, the user will be suggested to travel further using Artificial Intelligence. The statement said that this will reduce the hassle in search stations and will also save time in ticket booking.

The site of IRCTC seems to be much cleaner than before. Let’s take a look at what IRCTC has added some new features and how it can benefit the passengers.

What is new on IRCTC website?

  1. On the opening page of IRCTC (you will get the option to search by filling all the information. That is, you have to fill the stations name, class, date, category on the first page and search.
  2. Next page will open the suggestion of trains, which will be based on the details you have filled between the two stations.
  3. On this page, you will get the names of trains, their timings, seat availability, all class fares at one place, you will not need to click and watch again.
  4. If you want to change the date of your trip and want to see what the status is, then ‘Book Now’ is also given the option of other dates, so that you can also see the status of the dates ahead. Whether the seat is available on the train.
  5. If the date on which the ticket is waiting, then IRCTC’s feature will also tell how much chance it has to be confirmed. This will allow you to decide whether to book a ticket for that date or not.
  6. As soon as you click on Book Now, the login page will open from where you can start the ticket booking process.
  7. The new website will also preserve the details of your last payment, which you can view whenever you want.
  8. IRCTC has added a new feature in it for frequent travelers, it automatically suggests such passengers for their future trips.
  9. The new IRCTC website will also remember your old travel details, that is, the next time you book a ticket, typing time will be saved and the chances of mistakes will be reduced.
  10. A separate window opens to fill in the payment details so that if any mistake is noticed, it can be rectified.
  11. If there is a refund, then you can see its states on the website itself.
  12. Along with ticket booking, food, hotel room booking will now be all in one place, ie all the needs of the traveler will be fulfilled at one place.

On this occasion, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal also gave information about the SBI-IRCTC credit cards, he said that all railway personnel should take this credit card, and travel on the train by booking tickets through this card.

Let me tell you that currently, IRCTC’s e-ticketing website has more than 6 crore active users, it is used to book more than 8 lakh tickets daily. About 83 percent of the total reserved railway tickets are booked through this online system.
