JEE Main Exam: JEE Main exam postponed due to Corona outbreak, Nishank tweeted

New Delhi: Amidst the rising corona virus cases in India, the National Testing Agency (VI), on the advice of Union Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, adjourned the April session of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) on Sunday. Fresh dates will be announced at least 15 days before the exam. The JEE (Main) April session was earlier scheduled on April 27, 28 and 30.

Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank himself has given this information through a tweet. He wrote in the tweet that in view of the situation in Corona, I have decided to postpone the JEE Main 2021 (April) examination. Safety of students and their career is our first priority.

Let us tell you that the JEE Main 2021 exam was to be conducted on 27, 28 and 30 April. This examination was scheduled to be held in two shifts. Nishank further wrote in the tweet that the new dates of the JEE Main exam will be announced at least 15 days before the examination.

The National Testing Agency is conducting the JEE Main Exam in four sessions. Two sessions have been completed by the agency. The first session was held between 23–26 February 2021. While the second session was held from 16–18 March 2021. A total of 620978 candidates appeared in the first session and 556248 candidates in the second session.
