Continuous rains in Uttarakhand have caused disruptions, especially affecting the Kumaon region. Rivers are in spate due to continuous rains, increasing the risk of floods. SDRF Commandant Manikant Mishra has reported rising water levels in Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand.
This time the monsoon season has been exceptionally active in Uttarakhand, due to which there has been continuous heavy rain for several days. Many roads and highways have been closed due to continuous rains. Landslides are occurring in hilly areas, forcing people to stay indoors. The water level of the rivers has risen, creating flood situation. Relief and rescue operations are underway, rescue teams are deployed on the spot.
