List of Vande Bharat Express trains in India: Check routes and facilities

As on 12 January, a total of 7 state-of-the-art, high-speed Vande Bharat Express trains are running across the country. And now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the 8th Vande Bharat Express between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam on January 15.

Unique features:

Armor technology is one of the safety elements in Vande Bharat Express trains. Kavach technology will help in reducing rail track accidents like train collisions. All classes of these trains have reclining seats, and executive coaches also have chairs that can rotate 180 degrees.

Automatic doors, a GPS-based audio-visual passenger information system, onboard hotspot Wi-Fi for entertainment and plush seating are some of the amenities offered by the Vande Bharat Express train.

Here’s a list of all the Vande Bharat Express trains at the function:

Train Number: Varanasi-New Delhi (22435) / New Delhi-Varanasi (22436)

On February 18, 2019, the first Vande Bharat Express train made its debut. The first route makes stops at Tyagraj and Kanpur on its way from the capital city of Delhi to the holy city of Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh). This train runs five days a week except Monday and Thursday.

Train Number: New Delhi – SMVD Katra (22439) / SMVD Katra -New Delhi (22440)

From Delhi to Katra, 2nd Vande Bharat Express is now running (Jammu & Kashmir). It was formally inaugurated by Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah on 3 October 2019 and started operating for profit on 5 October 2019. The train stops at Jammu Tawi, Ludhiana and Ambala Cantt. It operates six days a week, except Tuesdays.

Train Number: Mumbai Central – Gandhinagar Cap (20901) / Gandhinagar Cap -Mumbai Central (20902)

The third train started operating on 30 September 2022. In less than six hours, this train covers the distance between Mumbai, Maharashtra and Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Other trains take less than seven to eight hours to complete this journey. This train, which is a 2.0 upgrade of Vande Bharat Express, is famous for being fast, quiet and smooth. The train runs five days a week, but not on Sundays.

Amb Andaura – New Delhi (22447)/Amb Andaura – New Delhi (22448)

The fourth train was put into service on October 13, 2022. Travels by rail from New Delhi via Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The train runs six days a week.

Train Number: Chennai-Mysore (20608)/Mysore-Chennai (20607)

Vande Bharat Express was the fifth train which started on November 10, 2022. Two stops have been made by the high-speed train at Katpadi and KRS Bengaluru. This train covers a total distance of 479 kms. It operates five days a week and is not operational on Wednesdays.

Train Number: NAGPUR JN (20825) / NAGPUR – BILASPUR JN (20826)

The sixth Vande Bharat Express train was inaugurated on December 11, 2022. It runs from Nagpur to Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) (Maharashtra). This train runs on a six day schedule. On Saturdays, the train is not in service. The train stops at Gondia, Raipur, Durg and Rajnandgaon.

Train Number: Howrah-New Jalpaiguri (22301) / New Jalpaiguri Junction – Howrah (22302)

The seventh Vande Bharat Express train started on 30 December. The entire journey of the train lasts for 7 hours 30 minutes. Vande Bharat Express runs six days a week except Wednesday.
