More than 38.54 crore vaccine doses provided to States/UTs

New Delhi: The Central Government is committed to accelerating and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination across the country. The new phase of the Kovid-19 vaccination campaign for all citizens of the country has started on 21 June 2021. This immunization drive has been accelerated through better planning and streamlining of the vaccine supply chain through the availability of more vaccines, estimating vaccine availability in advance for States and Union Territories.

As a part of the nationwide immunization drive, the Government of India is assisting the States and Union Territories by providing them free-of-cost COVID vaccines. In this new phase of universalization of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, the Central Government will self-procure 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country and supply it free of cost to the States and Union Territories.

So far, more than 38.54 crores (38 crores 54 lakh 01 thousand 150) vaccines (doses) have been provided to the States/UTs through all sources.

Out of this, as per the data available till 8 am today, the total consumption including wastage is 36 crore 80 lakh 68 thousand 124 doses.

More than one crore 73 lakh (1,73,33,026) remaining and unutilized COVID vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs and private hospitals to be given to the beneficiaries.
