New Delhi: Another new name has been added to a series of raids on big drug houses in Bollywood. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday raided the residence of comedian Bharti Singh in Mumbai. Bharti and her husband are accused of taking drugs. The NCB has also summoned both of them. The names of the two were revealed during questioning by a drug peddler. This was followed by raids in homes in Andheri, Lokhandwala and Versova. The agency has also recovered narcotics from here.
Earlier this month, actor Arjun Rampal and filmmaker Feroz Nadiadwala were also raided by the agency in connection with the drug investigation. On 20 November in the drugs case, Arjun Rampal reached the NCB office, where he was questioned for hours. Arjun was interrogated two days before his live-in partner, Gabriela Demetriades. The court then sent Arjun Rampal’s friend Paul Bartel to judicial custody till 25 November.
Who is Bharti Singh?
Bharti Singh is a standup comedian and actress. She appears in ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. Bharti married writer Harsh Limbachiya in 2017. He started his career with the Indian Laughter Challenge. He then acted in several comedy shows, including comedy circus, comedy circus Mahasangram, comedy circus ka voodoo, story comedy circus ki and comedy nights bachao.
An official said that they recovered Ganja (marijuana) from Bharti Singh’s house. Bharti Singh has admitted that she and her husband consume drugs. Bharti Singh has been arrested following her statement.
According to the agency, NCB raided the production office and house of comedian Bharti Singh and 86.5 grams of hemp was recovered from both the places. Bharti and her husband Harsh Limbachia both admitted to consuming cannabis. Ms. Bharti Singh was arrested as per the provisions of NDPS Act 1986.
