The Prime Minister unveiled the Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor, a major project that is expected to give a big boost to tourism in Varanasi. “It is a confluence of the old and the new,” he said while addressing the inauguration ceremony on Monday.
After inaugurating the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, PM Modi lauded Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and expressed his gratitude to every laborer who worked for the construction of this grand complex.
Addressing the public at the inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, PM Modi said, “Even during Kovid-19, the work did not stop here.”
‘A new chapter is being written’
Addressing the program, PM Modi also said, “Today a new chapter is being written in the history of Kashi Vishwanath. The Kashi Vishwanath Dham complex is not just a grand ‘bhavan’, but the ‘Sanatan’ culture and traditions of India. Here you will see how the inspiration of the ancestors is giving direction to the future.”
“This city has lived many eras, it has seen the rise and fall of many empires. But Kashi has stood the test of time, just like Kashi is ‘Anant’, its contribution to the development of this country is ‘Anant’ (endless). ” PM Modi said.

Resolution 3: Cleanliness, Creation and Innovation
At the event, PM Modi also reiterated his objective of making India clean, a hub of innovation and ‘Atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant).
PM Modi said, “I want three resolutions from you, not for yourself, but for your country – cleanliness, creation and innovation and continuous efforts to make a self-reliant India.”
PM Modi said, “Cleanliness is a way of life and discipline. India’s progress will be difficult unless there is cleanliness in the country. We have taken many initiatives. We need to continue working in this direction.”

“Third is to increase efforts to make ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. We need to work for the future of India and we need to be self-reliant. We will pave new paths and fulfill the dream of making India self-reliant,” PM Modi said.
‘Kashi saw a defender for every attacker’
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi lauded the civilizational heritage of Varanasi, and said that many sultanates rose and collapsed but Banaras remained.
“Invaders attacked this city, tried to destroy it. History is witness to Aurangzeb’s atrocities, his terror. He tried to change civilization with the sword. He tried to crush the culture with fanaticism. But this country The soil of the world is different from the rest of the world. Here if one (Mughal emperor) Aurangzeb comes, then one (Maratha warrior) Shivaji also rises,” PM Modi said.
“If any Salar Masood moves forward, warriors like King Suhaldev make him realize the power of our unity,” he said.
Before inaugurating the Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor on Monday, PM Modi visited the Kaal Bhairav temple and also took a holy dip in the Ganges near Lalita Ghat. He also honored the cleaning workers in Kashi temple by showering them with flowers.
