New Delhi: Reliance Jio is going to give a gift to its subscribers on the new year. Reliance Jio is once again going to make voice calls absolutely free on any network. Please tell that Jio subscribers will be able to make free voice calls from their phones from 1 January 2021. The interconnect usage charge on such services has been abolished. Reliance Jio has given information about this on Thursday.
After this announcement, now Jio customers will not have to pay for making calls on any network from the new year. This facility will be for any place across the country. Currently, the IUC system requires customers to spend money on off-net voice calls, due to which many customers of Reliance Jio were porting to other mobile companies.
As per TRAI’s (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) directives, Reliance Jio Infocomm is making domestic voice calls free from 1 January, after the interconnect usage charge on such services has ended.
Explain that for the last one year Reliance Jio has been charging customers for voice calls to the phone network at the rate of 6 paise per minute, but they have been compensated by giving free data of equal value to the customers. In September 2019, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India extended the IUC for mobile-to-mobile calls to beyond January 2020. After this Jio started charging its customers for off-net voice calls.
Let us know that Reliance Jio has added more than 22 lakh customers in the month of October. After this, the total number of subscribers of the company has crossed 40.63 crores. Jio has added 2,45,912 customers to the wireless segment. After this, Bharti Airtel has connected 48,397 customers through fixed line connections.
