Rishabh Pant became the man of the series, for the first time an Indian wicket keeper won this award

Bangalore: India Sri Lanka (The second innings) was reduced to the third day itself and won the second cricket test played by Pink by 238 runs. With this the team won the series 2-0. India also won the first match of the series within three days.

Indian team wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant was awarded Man of the Series for his explosive batting in this series. Shreyas Iyer became the player of the match.

Rishabh Pant has become the first Indian wicketkeeper to win the Man of the Series award in Tests. Earlier, many veteran players including Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Wriddhiman Saha, Kiran More, Syed Kirmani have played the role of wicketkeeper for India. But no one had received this award yet.

Pant got the opportunity to bat in three innings in this series. During this he scored 185 runs. He scored these runs at an average of 61.67 and strike rate of 120.13. This included 23 fours and 6 sixes. He missed out on scoring a century in the Mohali Test. He played an innings of 96 runs. Pant completed his half-century in 28 balls in the second innings of the Bangalore Test. He also set the record for the fastest fifty for India.

Chasing 447 for victory, the Sri Lankan team batted well in the opening session of the third day, but faced the Indian bowlers with turns and uneven bounce on the pitch. For the Sri Lankan team, Dimuth Karunaratne scored 107 runs ahead of his score of 28 runs for one wicket yesterday. Sri Lanka were reduced to 208 runs in the second innings after tea. Ashwin took 4 wickets for India.
