Sarang Helicopter to perform at ‘Max Air Show’ in Russia

New Delhi: The Sarang Helicopter Display team of the Indian Air Force is all set to perform for the first time at the Max International Air Show at the Zukovsky International Airport in Russia. This air show is a biennial event and this year it will be organized from 20 July 2021 to 25 July 2021.

This is the first time that the Sarang team along with its ‘Made in India’ ‘Dhruv’ Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) will display its four helicopter aerobatics in Russia. These HAL manufactured machines have hinged rotors and are equipped with state-of-the-art avionics which makes them highly suited for military aviation. In addition to the Indian Air Force, this makes them highly suited for military aviation. Apart from the Indian Air Force, the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard also operate this helicopter.

The Sarang team was formed in Bangalore in 2003 and had its first international display at the 2004 Asian Aerospace Air Show in Singapore. Since then Sarang has so far represented Indian Aviation at air shows and ceremonial occasions in UAE, Germany, UK, Bahrain, Mauritius and Sri Lanka. Apart from aerobatics displays at national and international venues, the team has also participated in Operation Rahat in Uttarakhand. (2013), Ockhi storm in Kerala (2017) and Operation Karuna flood relief in Kerala (2018) have actively participated in countless humanitarian aid and disaster relief missions.
