New Delhi: There has been a demand for change of leadership within the Congress for a long time, but the party has been postponing the elections. At present, there is no change in the post of Congress President till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, leaders who adopt a rebellious attitude in the party can be given important responsibility in the organization. If sources are to be believed, Sonia Gandhi will remain the interim president of the Congress till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Also, there is a possibility that the country’s oldest party may appoint young faces to key positions in the organisation.

According to the news of Times Now, Sonia Gandhi will continue as Congress President till the next Lok Sabha elections. Sources have told the TV channel that Rahul Gandhi is unlikely to be appointed as the Congress President, however, he will continue to take decisions at the top level. With the upcoming 2024 general elections in mind, the Congress party is planning a major reshuffle in which Youth Congress leaders and Gandhi loyalists may find an important role within the party organisation.

If sources are to be believed, the party may appoint four working presidents, who will help Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi take important decisions. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sachin Pilot, Kumari Selja, Mukul Wasnik and Ramesh Chennithala are leading for the post of working president in Congress. It is important to know here that Ghulam Nabi Azad is the leader of the G-23 group, who wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi demanding a change in the organization, while Sachin Pilot has also shown his rebellious attitude at one point of time, but later became a member of the high command. On persuasion, he agreed.

However, there is no information about the role of Priyanka Gandhi in the change of leadership of the Congress. If sources are to be believed, no information has been revealed about Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s new role. Presently, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is leading the Congress in Uttar Pradesh and is looking into the matters where elections are due next year.

It has been more than two years since Sonia Gandhi took over as the interim president of the Congress and since then the Congress party has been postponing elections for the post of president. Earlier there was news that Rahul Gandhi has agreed to take over the top post in the party. However, in May 2021, the Congress postponed the election of the party president, citing the situation of Corona in the country.

If sources are to be believed, Rahul Gandhi wants to completely change the party organization. Ever since Rahul stepped down as Congress President after the party’s poor performance in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, there has been a demand for a full-time party president. Not only this, in Rajasthan, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and Karnataka also the Congress is facing issues among the party leaders. While Captain Vs Sidhu is seen in Punjab, Pilot Vs Gehlot is seen in Rajasthan.
