New Delhi: The 22nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab in Dubai. Hyderabad won the toss and scored 201 runs in the first over, losing 6 wickets in 20 overs and aiming for 202 runs in front of Punjab. Punjab’s team was shattered on seeing a big score. Apart from Nicholas Pooran, only one Punjab batsman was able to cross the double figures. Pooran played 77 from 37 balls with 5 fours and 7 sixes. The entire team of Punjab were bowled out for 132 runs in 16.5 overs. Hyderabad won the match by 69 runs. With this win, Hyderabad moved to number three in the points table.
Hyderabad made a tremendous start while batting first and there was a century partnership between their openers. David Warner scored 52 runs with the help of 5 balls and 1 six on 40 balls. Johnny Bairstow made 97 off 55 balls with 6 sixes and 7 checks and took Hyderabad’s score to 200. Apart from Ravi Bishnoi, none of the Punjab bowlers left their mark. Bishnoi took 3 wickets. Arshdeep Singh took 2 wickets. Mohammed Shami took 1 wicket.
