New Delhi: The number of deaths in the country from the Corona epidemic is steadily decreasing. The number of daily deaths in the last 12 days has been recorded below 300. An effective strategy to overcome the epidemic – identifying, tracking, conducting detailed and vigorous testing as well as standardized clinical management protocols – has ensured a reduction in the number of deaths.
The effective compliance of this strategy by the governments of the States / UTs has resulted in immediate identification of patients, immediate delivery of them and timely clinical management of patients admitted to hospitals.
In the last seven days, only one death per 10 lakh population has been recorded in the country. This achievement has been achieved due to the effective Covid Management and Response Policy of the Central Government.
As another achievement, the number of total active cases in the country is steadily declining. At present, the total number of active cases in the country is 2,27,546. The share of active cases in total positive cases has also decreased and has come down to 2.2 percent (2.19 percent).
The number of patients recovering daily is increasing more than the number of new cases coming up daily and thus the declining trend in active cases continues. The number of new patients has recovered to 21,314 in the last 24 hours. Thus there has been a decline of 3,490 in the total number of active cases registered in the last 24 hours.
In the recent times, the number of cases facing daily in the country has been below 20,000. In the last 24 hours, 18,088 new cases have been registered.
In the last seven days, 96 new cases per 10 lakh population have been registered in the country. Brazil, Russia, France, Italy, the United States and Britain have a large number of such cases.
As on date, the total number of cases in the country has reached close to 1 crore and it is 99,97,272. The number of patients recovering is increasing from the number of new cases reported daily and the recovery rate is 96.36 percent.
76.48 percent of the number of newly cured patients are in 10 States / UTs.
In the last 24 hours, Kerala has the highest number of cured 4,922 patients a day, 2,828 a day in Maharashtra and 1,651 in Chhattisgarh.
Out of the total reported cases, 79.05 per cent cases are from 10 states / union territories.
In the past 24 hours, 5,615 new cases have been registered in Kerala. 3,160 cases were reported in Maharashtra yesterday and 1,021 in Chhattisgarh.

Of the new deaths, 24.24 percent i.e. 64 deaths have been reported in Maharashtra. 25 deaths have been reported in Chhattisgarh and 24 in Kerala.
