Uttarakhand’s first professional degree college in Paithani, Pauri district will be operated from this session

From the current session of Uttarakhand’s first Government Professional Degree College, the way has been cleared for operation. The government has created 34 posts, including one director, one professor, three associate professors, for the college.

Three courses of B.Tech, two courses of B.Sc. Under the centrally funded Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), it was decided to open Government Professional Degree College in Paithani. The college building is almost complete. The posts of teachers and non-teaching personnel have also been created for the college. However, these posts have been created provisionally till February 28, 2022.

In the first phase in the college, along with four year B.Tech courses in Computer Science, Construction Technology, Food Technology, B.Sc-Renewable Energy and B.Sc-PCM courses are being started. Orders given to the Director of Higher Education Deepender Kumar Choudhary, Secretary in-charge of Higher Education, on Thursday issued the order of creation of the post to the Director of Higher Education.

These include one post of Director, one post of Professor of B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, three posts of Associate Professor, eight posts of Assistant Professor, Office Superintendent, Assistant Office Superintendent, Assistant Accountant, Senior Assistant, Librarian, Library Clerk or one of Data Operator. One post has been created. Two posts each of Junior Assistant, Laboratory Assistant have been created.

11 posts will be filled by outsourcing, one post each for Data Entry Operator, Book Lifter, Cataloger and Swachhak has been created. These posts will be filled through outsource. Two posts each of guard, attendant, scavenger and one post of gardener will also be filled through outsource. In addition to the posts approved by the government, the work of electricians and plumbers will be done outsourced as per requirement. The government has directed the Directorate of Higher Education to take necessary action regarding the sanctioned posts.

The minister claimed that 80 per cent of the construction work of the college building is complete. He said that the college would be a residential one and have separate boys and girls’ hostels. The college would have B.Tech. courses in computer sciences and engineering, construction technology and food technology and B.Sc. honours courses on PCM stream and renewable energy.

The government has given approval for the post of one director, one professor, three associate professors, eight assistant professors, librarian, office superintendent, assistant office superintendent, accountant, senior assistant and library clerk. Apart from them 11 posts have been sanctioned which would be filled on outsource. The minister informed the college that it would be inaugurated by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the month of October.
