West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s younger brother Ashim Bandopadhyay, dies from Corona

New Delhi: Ashim Bandopadhyay, the younger brother of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, died this morning. Ashim Bandopadhyay was infected with Corona for the past one month and was under treatment under the supervision of doctors at Medica Superspeciality Hospital in Kolkata.

Ashim Bandopadhyay’s health deteriorated this morning and died while fighting Corona. According to family sources of CM Mamta Banerjee, the last rites will be performed following the Covid protocol. The news agency ANI gave its information.

According to the agency, Alok Roy, chairman of Medica Superspeciality Hospital in Kolkata, informed of his demise, saying that the brother of the chief minister was infected with the corona virus and was undergoing treatment here.

Meanwhile, the West Bengal government has announced a complete lockdown from 16 May to 31 May. Corona virus continues to wreak havoc in Bengal. According to the Ministry of Health, there are a total of 131792 active cases of corona virus in the state. So far, 12993 people have died from the corona and around 950017 people have been cured.
