No relief to Kejriwal in liquor policy case, court sent him to judicial custody till April 15

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to judicial custody for 15 days by the Rouse Avenue Court in a money laundering case related to the liquor scam. Now Kejriwal will remain in Tihar jail.

The Enforcement Directorate on Monday produced Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Rouse Avenue court in a money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam. Many leaders including wife Sunita, AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj, Atishi, Gopal Rai were present during the appearance of Arvind Kejriwal. On March 28, the court did not give relief to Arvind Kejriwal and sent him on ED remand till April 1. He was arrested by ED on 21 March.

Kejriwal made this demand in jail

Kejriwal’s lawyer has asked to provide some medicines in the jail. Along with this, demand has also been made for three books, Ramayana, journalist Neeraj Chaudhary’s How Prime Minister Decides, Mahabharata. Kejriwal’s lawyer has demanded a special diet. Arvind Kejriwal has also asked for his locket and table chair.

ED demanded judicial custody

The court said it directs the ED to file a status report before it as he is in custody as per the order of the trial court. Whatever money has come in this scam has been used in Goa elections. The agency is recording four more statements of AAP’s Goa candidates. After hearing both the sides, the court extended the remand period till April 1 while giving its verdict.
