AAP leader Sandeep Bhardwaj commits suicide after not getting MCD election ticket

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sandeep Bhardwaj committed suicide on Thursday in Rajouri Garden area of ​​West Delhi. According to his close friends, Sandeep was about to get a ticket from the party in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, but this did not happen and since then he was running upset.

On receiving the information, the police reached and took the dead body in their possession and sent it for postmortem.

At 4.40 pm, a PCR call was received from Kukreja Hospital in Rajouri Garden, indicating that a person, Sandeep Bhardwaj s/o Naresh Bhardwaj, had died. A 55-year-old man was found hanging dead in his house.

Crime squad has been sent to the spot. The inquiry proceedings under Section 174 of the Criminal Penal Code (CrPC) are being conducted in accordance with law.

He was the secretary of AAP trade wing in Delhi. His friend took him to Kukreja Hospital. He was the owner of Bharadwaj Marbles in Rajouri Garden and was divorced.

He has two unmarried sisters and a 20-year-old son who lives with him.

The AAP has already come under fire over ticket distribution for the upcoming MCD elections, as an unverified sting operation earlier this week accused party committee members of taking money for giving tickets to contest elections .

According to the BJP’s allegation, there was an agreement between the AAP members to take a total of Rs 82 lakh. He had to pay the first installment of Rs 21 lakh, the second installment of Rs 40 lakh and the third installment of Rs 21 lakh.
