AAP’s Bhagwant Mann is alcoholic and illiterate Punjab says CM Channi

Bathinda: With the polling date for the Punjab Assembly elections approaching, political parties are not shying away from personal attacks to gain an edge over their rivals.

In one such purported remark, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that Aam Aadmi Party’s CM candidate Bhagwant Mann is a drunkard and illiterate person. He further said that Mann passed 12th in three years raising questions on his ability to lead the state.

At a rally in Bathinda on Wednesday, CM Charanjit Singh Channi said, “Bhagwant Mann (AAP’s Punjab CM candidate) is a drunkard and illiterate person. He passed class 12th in three years. How can we give command of Punjab to such a person”

The chief minister also criticized Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal’s alleged remarks on the security of Hindus and businessmen in Punjab and said that everyone is safe in his government and no such communal force will succeed.

Taking to his official account, he tweeted, “Punjab belongs to all religions and castes. My government will provide a safe and stable environment with peace and harmony for all. Punjabis will not allow such communal forces to succeed. B-team open ground I came.”

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the party’s chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann held a roadshow in Jalandhar Cantt assembly constituency on Wednesday. He had earlier visited Sant Guru Ravidas Dham on Ravidas Jayanti.

Addressing the gathering, Kejriwal reportedly said that the Delhi government was keen on building a grand temple of Sri Guru Ravidas in the national capital, “We will talk to the central government about the hurdles.”

Addressing corner meetings in Jalandhar, Kejriwal expressed confidence about the party’s victory in the upcoming assembly polls and said people have made up their minds for “change” in the state.
