This is a big infra boost for Noida, Greater Noida and entire Gautam Buddha Nagar as Noida Sector 150 is all set to get an international cricket stadium. The Apex Council of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has approved a proposal for the development of an international-class cricket stadium in Noida. A spokesperson for Lotus Greens Sports City confirmed that they have received UPCA approval to develop the stadium in Sector 150.

Capacity
- It will have the capacity to host 35,000 spectators
UPCA through a letter dated March 25 informed the real estate developer about the acceptance of the proposal.
UPCA Chief Executive Officer Ankit Chatterjee said, “Along with the letter, a list of basic requirements and facilities has been shared with the developer, which is mandatory for any stadium to host national or international events as recommended by UPCA.”
He said UP has two functional stadiums in Kanpur and Lucknow which can host international level cricket matches, while two in Varanasi and one in Ghaziabad are in the pipeline.
Completion Date
“We have submitted a revised layout plan with the local authority and once approved, the project will commence and be completed within three years,” said the spokesperson.
“We are in the process of selecting players to develop the international cricket stadium as well,” the official said.
Fifth International Cricket Stadium
“If this one in Noida is developed as per the specifications and guidelines of ICC and BCCI, it will be the fifth international-level cricket stadium in the state,” Chatterjee said.
He said that for the Sports Integrated Township, Lotus Group has roped in various renowned industry players like Tata, Godrej, Birla, Hero Group, Prestige, Eldeco etc. to develop state-of-the-art sports facilities like 9-hole golf course. 38 acres of land, tennis court etc.
