Ambani bomb scare mystery: Owner of SUV laden with explosives found dead

Mansukh Hiren, the man with whom the SUV was loaded, was released outside Antilia, home of industrialist Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai, has been found dead under mysterious circumstances.

Thane district police said they recovered Hiren’s body on Friday. Police said that Hiren appears to have died by suicide, possibly by jumping into the Kalwa drain, and a case of accidental death has been registered.

On 26 February, after heavy security scandals on an abandoned car with explosives near the house of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai, police said that its owner had been traced.

The SUV, registered owner of Mahindra Scorpio, was a Mansukh Hiren. Hiren said that his car had not been in use for over a year and that he had recently fired the vehicle because he wanted to sell it.

He also told police that his car broke down and he decided to park on Mulund-Airoli Link Road on February 16, but when he returned for the vehicle a day later, he found it already stolen Was. According to an India Today report, he had lodged a police complaint about his stolen vehicle.
