BJP wins 15 seats, Cong 9 in Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council election

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has managed to sweep all the five seats of the Nubra valley, which has a significant Muslim population.

The BJP has won 15 seats, Congress 9 and independent candidates 2 in Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council election which took place on Thursday. BJP, Congress, AAP and 23 Independent candidates contested the polls for 26 seats.

According to official figures, BJP candidate Ghulam Mehdi won from Turtuk constituency, BJP candidate Tsering Sandup won from Panamik constituency, BJP candidate Tsering Angchuk won Diskit constituency and BJP candidate Tashi Namgyal Yakzee also won from Tangtse constituency.

The BJP has managed to sweep all the five seats of the Nubra valley, with significant Muslim population. Meanwhile, independent candidate Konchok Stanzin has been declared winner from Chushul constituency.
