Blast at Nemitata railway station in West Bengal, 25 people injured

New Delhi: An unfortunate incident of explosion occurred at 10.20 pm last night in the premises of Nemitata station in Malda, Eastern Railway. A total of 25 people, including Labor Minister Zakir Hussain, were injured in the blast in the West Bengal government.

Later, 10 of the injured were taken to a hospital in Kolkata for treatment. The Indian Railways has condemned the incident. Relief and rescue measures were immediately initiated by the Railways. The injured persons were rushed to nearby hospitals by RPF and other railway officials.

According to the news agency West Bengal minister Zakir Hussain was injured after unidentified persons bombed Nimita railway station, Murshidabad. The Superintendent of Murshidabad Medical College said that Minister Zakir Hussain has one arm and leg injured. However, he is stable and out of danger.

Here the fact can be noted that law and order is a state subject and the state police is fully responsible for it. Law and order on railway platforms is also under the GRP of the state government.

The spot falls under the jurisdiction of SRP Howrah. The GRP has filed a case no. Under sections 307, 326 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). 05 v 2021 dated 17.02.2021.
