Centre lauds the efforts of Bhupesh Govt to provide housing facility for homeless

Raipur: In a strong testimony for the all-inclusive model of beneficiary-led ‘Mor Zameen Mor Makaan’ scheme of the Government of Chhattisgarh, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, GoI has declared Chhattisgarh’s scheme as the best convergence model. The state shall be felicitated in the Special Category of the PMAY Urban awards, chaired by the Hon. Prime Minister on 1st January 2021.

The much anticipated PMAY (Urban) awards will be held through a virtual mode on New Year’s day. The Hon. Prime Minister shall also be accompanied by Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, MoS, Housing and Urban affairs, GoI.

Chhattisgarh’s own pilgrimage city, Dongargarh shall also be felicitated in the category of the best performing Municipal Council by the Ministry. In addition to this, three beneficiaries from Chhattisgarh, who have built the best and most beautiful dwelling units for themselves, will also be honoured. The names of these beneficiaries are Mrs. Anju Sahu (Dhamtari), Mrs. Mumtaz Begam (Dhamtari) and Mrs. Mamta Verma (Kawardha).

Hon. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has congratulated all citizens of the state, the department, and the Urban Local Bodies and reiterated the importance of the all-inclusive, all-encompassing Chhattisgarh development model. He reaffirmed his Government’s commitment to providing their own houses to the homeless.

Hon. Minister for Urban Administration and Development Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya expressed elation at receiving the award and has urged the ULBs and the department to keep striving for bringing even more laurels for the state. He also congratulated everyone involved as well.
