New Delhi: India has reported 12,286 new coronovirus cases today and the tally has increased to 1,11,24,527, while the number of recoveries has risen to 1,07,98,921, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

The death toll due to viral disease has increased to 1,57,248 in the country, with 91 more fatal reports over a 24-hour period, the ministry showed.

Meanwhile, judges of the Supreme Court will get COVID-19 vaccine shots from today. In the campaign starting today, the eligible people of the vaccine include the families of judges and retired judges. The Supreme Court Registry has arranged for a vaccination facility in the court premises.

Judges and their families have an option to get jobs in the Supreme Court premises or any government-listed hospital.

The Supreme Court registry said that the cost of vaccination would be in accordance with the Centre’s guidelines. Private hospitals can charge up to 250 per shot.

The Ministry of Health said that judges would not have the option to choose which vaccine they would like to take – Bharat Biotech’s Kovaxin, or Kovishield, developed by Oxford-AstraZeneca and created by the Serum Institute of India.
