Covid-19 update: Covid in more than half of Delhi, latest sero survey shows

Latest news update: With 8,635 new coronovirus cases in the last 24 hours, India recorded the lowest single-day increase in its tally in nearly eight months, government data showed.

New Delhi: One in two residents in Delhi have been exposed to coronovirus and antibodies developed for infection, a fifth serological survey has been found in the capital, the government said on Tuesday. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that the data showed that the city of 2 crore herd is moving towards immunity.

Mr. Jain said, “The fifth sero survey conducted in the national capital Delhi has detected antibodies in 56.13 percent of the population. This was the largest survey out of 28,000 samples taken in any state from January 15 to 23,” Mr. Jain said.
