Covid-19 Update: Less than 5,000 active cases in 33 states and union territories

New Delhi: The decline in daily new cases of Covid in India continues. The number of patients undergoing treatment for corona virus infection in the country has come down to 1.41 lakh (1,41,511) today.

The total number of current patients is now only 1.30 percent of India’s total positive cases. According to national data, 33 states and union territories have reported fewer than 5000 active cases in the last 24 hours. There is not a single active case at present in Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

In the last 24 hours, 11,067 new patients have appeared. Whereas 13,087 patients have recovered and gone home in the last one day. This has led to a decrease of 2,114 cases in total active cases.

Two states, Kerala and Maharashtra, account for 71 percent of the country’s total active cases.

Nineteen states and union territories have not reported any deaths in the last 24 hours. These are – Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Puducherry, Manipur, Nagaland, Lakshadweep, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Union Territories of Ladakh, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh , Tripura, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

The total number of people who have become infection free in India till date is 1,05,61,608. While the recovery rate is 97.27 percent.

About 66 lakh (66,11,561) beneficiaries have been vaccinated under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination practice till 8:00 am on February 10, 2021.

The total cumulative immunization coverage of 66,11,561 includes 56,10,134 health workers and 10,01,427 front-line workers. So far 1,34,746 sessions have been held.

On the 25th day of the vaccination campaign (on 9 February 2021), 3,52,553 beneficiaries (1,28,032 health workers and 2,24,521 frontline workers) were vaccinated in 7,990 sessions.

The number of beneficiaries who get vaccinated every day is constantly increasing.

61.68 percent of the new patients cured are from 6 states.

Kerala has recorded a maximum recovery of one day with 6,475 newly recovered patients. In the last 24 hours, 2,554 people recovered in Maharashtra followed by 513 people recovering from Corona in Bihar.

83.31 percent of new cases are from only 6 states and union territories.

Kerala has seen the highest number of 5,214 new patients yesterday. This was followed by 2,515 patients in Maharashtra, while in Tamil Nadu, 469 Covid patients were confirmed.

In the last 24 hours, 94 infected have died. The percentage of new deaths in 6 states and union territories is 80.85. There was a maximum of 35 deaths in Maharashtra. Kerala has an average of 19 deaths daily, while Punjab has 8 deaths.
