Dr Narendra Dev’s contribution towards recognition of Chhattisgarhi dialect and folk culture is invaluable: Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur: Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has paid courteous tribute to the famous litterateur, linguist and composer of Chhattisgarh State Song Dr Narendra Dev Verma, on his birth anniversary. Commemorating his persona and his contributions, Chief Minister said that Dr Verma was a multifaceted personality. He excelled his roles as a poet, thinker, novelist, playwright, editor and emcee.

He had also written poetry in English Language. He had the talent of influencing people within no time with his passionate oration and logical point of view. He had impressed the then Prime Minister Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru with his views at youth festival. Dr Narendra gave us an unforgettable composition in form of ‘Arpa Pairi Ke Dhaar, Mahanadi Hai Apaar…’.

This song glorifies the beauty and dignity of Chhattisgarh. Mr. Baghel said that everything Dr Narendra Yadav wrote touched the hearts of people. His literary work painted a lively picture of Chhattisgarhi culture and lifestyle. His Hindi novel ‘Subah Ki Talash’ was translated in Chhattisgarhi as ‘Sonha Bihaan’ and it was presented before public as a theatrical performance. He had done research on subject ‘Development of Chhattisgarhi Language and Literature’ and got his PhD.

He played an important role in upholding the dignity of Chhattisgarhi dialect and culture. Mr. Baghel said that his contribution for development of Chhattisgarh language will always be remembered.
