Former IAS officer RCP Singh to replace JDU president Nitish Kumar

Patna: The post of national president of Janata Dal-United; Shrakandha will be assigned to Ramchandra Prasad Singh. RCP Singh is currently the leader of the Parliamentary Party in the Rajya Sabha. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar proposed his name, which was all supported. Recently CM Nitish Kumar has also talked about making Singh a political successor. During a meeting with leaders and activists at the party office in Patna, Nitish said that RCP Singh would see everything after him.

This is the first time Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given a clear indication that he will be his political successor in the party with him. However, RCP Singh was also considered number 2 after Nitish in JDU because, during the party’s virtual meeting in June, the Lok Sabha was given a speech in the presence of parliamentary party leader Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh. Earlier RCP Singh used to give lectures to Nitish Kumar and it is believed that protocol was followed only on the instructions of Nitish Kumar.

Whether it is seat-sharing or the selection of candidates in the party at the time of elections, CM Nitish Kumar relies most heavily on RCP Singh. However, Singh was not very successful in mobilizing the workers’ rally at the party last year. RCP Singh is a member of Rajya Sabha for the last 2 times. He first went to the Rajya Sabha in 2010 and was again sent by Nitish Kumar in 2016.
